 The inside story...
It began some thirty years ago when Mr Emmanuel and Mrs Patty Hatzimanolis, who migrated to Australia from Greece, set up the original
foodservice operations in the early 1970s. In the early years, the business operated from the founder’s home.
From these humble beginnings, the business moved to warehouse facilities in Marrickville and began operating as MFO Distributors Pty Limited.
The dream to create the best foodservice business is continued by the founder’s family. The business expanded over
each decade fuelled by the spectacular growth in the foodservice industry and our loyal customers. As our customers grew, we grew with them.
Today we are fiercely driven by the excitement of being an integral part of Sydney’s wonderful cuisine culture and its high
standards of service. We know we must deliver superior results in every situation - our customers demand this, and we are continually raising the bar.
MFO Distributors is trading under Metro Foodservice and represents over 50 food producers both local as well as international sources.

Our Support
We proudly support our community and environment. We aim, through our activities, to ensure that all of our

We support the STARLIGHT CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION which uses donations to brighten the lives of seriously ill
children and the LIONS CLUB which helps the nations needy children. Our warehousing facility engages in green recycling. We are also the proud sponsors of the Earlwood Wanderers soccer team and we wish them well this season.
